Chairman of the Board is Mr. Chaim Ariel, who, together with the other directors, oversees and evaluates SHEKEL's activities, directs its future development, helps fundraise in Israel and abroad and appoints the CEO.

Mr. Yossi Tal-Gan, Chairman

“I joined SHEKEL in 1995 while serving as CEO of the Jerusalem Municipality. For me, SHEKEL is an example of an organization operating out of a real sense of mission to help people with special needs in Jerusalem and throughout Israel. I have been Chairman of the Board for a long time and witnessed its massive development. I believe that SHEKEL’s capabilities and professionalism enable it to realize its vision.”

Aaron Amit, Board Member

“I joined SHEKEL’s Board of Directors 12 years ago. My past experience in administration and community work, plus my knowledge about workers’ rights and labor laws, enable me to make a significant contribution to SHEKEL’s Board in various areas. Even before I joined the Board, I had heard a lot about SHEKEL’s amazing work. I believe every person should not only think of himself and his family, but also help others. Any help to SHEKEL is another way of helping SHEKEL fulfill its mission. In the past I worked as Deputy Director of Administration in a government office and later as Marketing Director for a personnel company. Today I am retired and volunteer at several organizations.”
