American Center Kicks off SHEKEL & Bezalel Academy Art Exhibition

The American Center of the US embassy, marked 'International Disability Day' for Persons with Disabilities', with the opening event of an extraordinary art exhibition "SHEKEL Dialogue with American Art: Pop Art-Cartoons-Superheroes". The artworks are the result of a special partnership between artists with disabilities and Bezalel Art Academy students, through SHEKEL's "Dialogue through Art" program.

American Center Director, Mr. Bill Murad, noted that they chose to partner with SHEKEL following a visit. "We were so impressed by the level of excellence in every area of SHEKEL's work… and the integration of all sectors of the community", noted Murad.

The "Feedbacks" rock band, formed by Dikla Baniel, through SHEKEL's "Channels to the Community" program, won over the audience with an amazing musical performance – and received a huge round of applause! SHEKEL "community living" resident, Josh Aronsohn, acted as the evening's MC and spoke movingly of his experiences and success since arriving at SHEKEL. The exhibition can be viewed at the American Center until the end of February. Be sure not to miss it!
